Webster describes it simply as “a poison produced by a living thing (as an animal or bacterium).” Or “a poisonous substance that is a specific product of the metabolic activities of a living organism and is usually very unstable, notably toxic when introduced into the tissues, and typically capable of inducing antibody formation.”

The Medical definition is “a colloidal proteinaceous poisonous substance that is a specific product of the metabolic activities of a living organism and is usually very unstable, notably toxic when introduced into the tissues, and typically capable of inducing antibody formation.”

Webster further says it was first introduced in our language in 1886! In 1886 these words were also introduced: Dead End, Emergency Room, French Fry, and Swine Fever, to name a few.

A lot of big fancy words! Basically, they come from nature or synthetic sources. They are not good for us to be exposed to for long term.

Where are toxins found? Everywhere! They are around us 24/7! We breathe them, touch them, and consume them. When I was first introduced to the word toxin, I thought I really am not exposed to all that many in my daily life. But then, the more I thought about it, I realized I was surrounded.

Let’s think about it. What do I use most often? My cell phone! There aren’t any toxins in my cell phone, are there? Cell phones contain harmful toxins including lead, radiation, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, chlorine and bromine! And to think I put that close to my face! YIKES! Maybe you don’t use your cell phone much, what about the other toxins? Have you read the warning labels on the products in your home? Have we become numb to the cautions they give us? I know I had! Take bleach or pine sol…ummm very toxic! But we use it anyways, right? Why? Because it gets the job done. Maybe you don’t use those and use “green” products. Congrats! You are one step closer to eliminating toxins. But how “green” are they?

Ladies, what about make-up? Make-up remover? Face cleansers? Feminine napkins or other?

Other daily use items…shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, hair products, hairspray, shaving cream, lotions, nail products, polish remover, perfume/ aftershave, laundry products, and other cleaning supplies. Not to mention the food we eat. The list goes on and on and we haven’t even left the house yet! Toxins from other sources such as the exhaust from vehicles. Just because you cannot smell it doesn’t mean it is not there.

And what about our pets?!? They are way more sensitive than we are! What about the food they eat or toys they put in their mouth?

You might be thinking; well our bodies are made to eliminate the toxins. We have a liver and kidneys to do this job for us! Yes, we were made to heal our bodies. However, were we made to eliminate synthetic toxins? How much exposure is too much?

Maybe, just maybe we are getting sick from being exposed to these things? Or our pets are having issues due to exposure? Maybe food allergies because of exposure? Or other medical issues such a sleep apnea, migraines, skin issues, or many others. Oh, you tell yourself, nahh that is just the way it is, and we deal with it. Or I caught it from so and so, or my kid brought it home from school so now we are all sick. For me, these were just excuses because I didn’t know where to turn.

No need to get all depressed, there is HOPE!

So now what?!? We cannot just eliminate toxins from our daily life! Or can we? My goal is to reduce as many toxins as possible so that my quality of life, and those I love, can be improved. How can I accomplish this? I am so glad you asked! The answer is ONE thing at a time. No need to go all crazy with turning your house upside down, unless you really want to.

How did I start? I started with introducing a diffuser in my home. Cleaning the air around me. Then I moved on to replacing the items in my home that were dangerous. And finally, I started supporting my body from the inside so I would be ready to fight whatever I came in contact with. You can too!

Are you with me? Are you ready to reduce your toxic load? Are you ready to change the quality of your life and those you love? Great! I am ready to help! We can do this together! Contact me for a personalized plan for eliminating toxins in your life! 🙂
